Background & Experience

For more than 15 years I’ve been designing training materials for on-demand online training, real-time virtual training, and live instructor-led training. I have a Master’s degree in Adult Education from New York University and a graduate certificate in Designing E-Learning from the University of Washington. I also had the privilege of receiving training from learning engineers with the Carnegie Mellon Open Learning Initiative—the gold standard in evidence-based e-learning design.

I’ve designed materials for many different content areas, such as healthcare, dental practice management, organizational development, leadership, and customer service. Following are examples of recent projects I’ve worked on designing on-demand e-learning materials:

  • Materials to improve dental practice management and customer service
  • Health IT and data analytics training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff at the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The programs attracted more than 6,000 participants. One of these courses was the most highly rated course ever offered at the VA.
  • Healthcare and health IT training materials for the US Department of Health & Human Services Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) national curriculum.
  • Environmental science learning activities for high school students

My goal in designing e-learning is to provide learners with an engaging, interactive experience leading to the acquisition of actionable skills and knowledge. My approach is firmly grounded in evidence-based best practices.
